Jerry Gerrard   April 29, 1939 – January 25, 2008

Jerry Gerrard , a man who will be missed by all who knew him, was called home on Friday morning, January 25^th, 2008. He left behind his loving family, many friends and over 150 employees of Gerrard Tire Co. that he cared very much about. He did not choose to leave that morning but as each of us, he had no choice except to answer that call. It is for certain that when our bell rings, we are going home. Jerry was a visionary man that could see what could be and then make it happen. Under his leadership, Gerrard Tire Co. grew from a single-building small business to a large company with multiple locations, all dedicated toward selling tires. Jerry was a unique person with the ability to make things happen. He simply would not take no for an answer. Regardless of the obstacles encountered, Jerry would find a way to make his plans and dreams work. There were always two ways to do things, Jerry’s way and the wrong way. The success and growth of the company over the years of his leadership proved that Jerry’s way was indeed the right way. Yet this successful businessman was a friend of the underdog and those less fortunate than he. His tough exterior barely hid his caring for his fellow man. He took care of those in need, even total strangers when that need became known to him. He took that extra step to do what he could for people. That is what made him so special to many of us.  He will be missed by us all and we mourn his passing. Sleep well BIG ‘G’, may you rest in peace.
